Recommended Iphone Apps To Keep Track Of Spending

Whilst we all have regular direct debits in place, including monthly household bills, unexpected costs can still take us by surprise and throw personal finances into disarray. Whether its a car repair or your hot water boiler decides to call it a day, this extra expense could be hugely damaging. It would be true to say that many of us are in a constant cycle of spending from the moment our wages come in until the next time we are paid. Keeping track of where your money has gone via the use of an iPhone application will allow you to visualise how much money you have spent and where exactly your money has gone.

With the price of goods in the UK increasing, such as fuel, transport, food and electricity, money management applications are becoming increasingly valuable in their own right. As many of them give you a clear breakdown on where your money has gone, you can work out where you need to decrease your monthly spend and the areas you can afford to spend a little more. There are a number of applications available in the Apple online store and you might be asking yourself, which one would be best for me? To help with this question we are going to take a look at some of the best apps to download for your phone in order to help you keep track of your spending.

First up on the list is iWallet. This nifty app allows you to view reports on your spending habits and email them in a PDF format. With this app, like many others available, you need to manually enter the amounts that you spend so that the programme can pull together all of your spending statistics. Currently selling on the Apple store for around 3.00, its a good price and a popular choice for many people.

Another popular choice is MoneyBook, which is easy to use and features an appealing interface. One of the benefits of this application is you dont need to be connected to the Internet in order to use it. MoneyBook features overview, expenses, recurring, and history tabs on the main menu and lets you set a monthly budget so that you can limit your spending in certain areas. If you are looking for an app which is simple but effective to use then this one is a good shout.

Mint is a particularly good app at keeping track of your spending because it will automatically update your transactions without you having to enter the information manually. But how is it able to do this? Well the technology is very clever, as it securely connects directly to your bank account and automatically categorises the transactions for you. If this wasnt enough, the app even sends you an alert when it thinks there is a suspicious transaction coming out of your account.

There are literally hundreds of applications available on the Apple store and it really depends on what you are looking for. You might want an app that is easy to manage and maintain, or you might prefer one that features a report and statistics facility. Whatever your preferences, be sure to have a look at some of the ones mentioned above as they are popular choices for those looking to keep track of their finances. If you find that these apps dont meet your requirements then look online and see if you can find a review of an app that is more likely to suit you. Its all about finding what you want, sticking to your budgets, and watching where your money goes.

Iphone 3g -get Sms Delivery Reports

Since i bought my new iPhone 3G, instantaneously I thought out about a software whether it is required to download or not if apple not cast an option for SMS messages delivery report to the iPhone 3G software. Every time, when a person send a text message, he/she just look for a delivery report whether it have been delivered or not. It was a great disappoint when i caught that i have no access to get start delivery reports as Nokia Cell phone facilitate. That is the big reason behind i have to switch over O2 from my iPhone. Then, I discovered a route to accept delivery report for any SMS even though this is not in built option that I was looked for but overall this device is quit able to make you delivery report confirm for SMS.

In United Kingdom, for requesting a delivery report of SMS just simply type *0# to thetarting of a SMS . As the recipient gets SMS message, a auto generated delivery report will show as iChat bubble sign on iPhone, SMS is received a delivery report (delivery receipt) will come into sight as another iChat bubble sign on I-Phone, at a lower place of original SMS message (you recive a text message back).

Enterprises Getting Ready for iPhone 4

With Apple releasing its new iPhone 4, most of its innovations developed to satisfy the needs of the individual users also apply to enterprises throughout the world. Now it’s the turn for a CIO and IT department to get prepared for this new smartphone release, and especially for a certain challenge: coming mobile enterprise applications.

IT departments are advised to adopt Apple’s slogan ‘Think different’ to consider iPhone 4. iPhone was the one that succeeded to convince the consumers of importance mobile data, which even surpassed that of the voice. Now iPhone is less likely a phone, as its heart is taken by applications, which can be found in the quantity of 200,000 in the App Store. One should admit that the platform has clearly conquered both developers and end-users.

Although mobile enterprise applications have held productivity promises over many years, they remained on the level of just using wireless email. Now, with iPhone 4 release, there is light at the end of the tunnel. First of all, it provides a powerful development environment, allowing everyone to build an application for iPhone 4. Moreover, it isn’t necessary to depend on iTunes to distribute the app anymore, providing the IT with a possibility to control applications end-to-end. Enhanced security plays its role, and the device’s popularity frees the enterprise from advertising the iPhone apps.

As Apple seems to be completely ready to offer the enterprises mobile apps, that’s their turn to prepare to use devices in their operations. It would make sense to start with preparing for the departmental applications explosion. What the CIO needs to acknowledge is that the mobile applications are not the same as the traditional ones and should be handled differently. The large organizations are familiar with the basic model, where heavy software offering hundreds of functions is taken for a basis for the large systems like CRM or Knowledge Management. But here they will face small and focused apps taking weeks, not years, to get to market and delivering a very limited number of functions.

The sharks of the industry won’t wait for central IT to develop their own applications. Instead, they can become developers themselves or hire a freelancer to build simple applications that would satisfy their particular demands. Since iPhone apps are very easy to create and convenient to use, the CIO will only need to decide who will be responsible for which type of applications, appointing the certain people to build, to support, to fund, to innovate, to deal with chaos, to distribute bright iPhone 4 covers, etc.

Besides, the enterprises should think of the training helpdesk specialists. Today most helpdesks can deal with the questions on email settings or delivery for the mobile phone, but they most likely won’t be able to help smartphone owners with Calendar integration, Google Maps, or memory conflicts and issues from the hundreds of applications. With broadening of the helpdesk roles the enterprise call center will require a new level of expertise to be able to consult on troubles that don’t occur on the desktops. And this type of questions might become those of a higher priority, since the urgency of resolution for mobiles is much higher than for desktop. If user experiences some application slowing down his desktop’s system, he could agree to wait on it. But if something’s wrong with a mobile, losing the battery power and unable to make calls, they would definitely opt for fixing the phone first.

The CIO should decide on what investments will be required to support mobility, including the training expenditure. Although smartphones have enabled employees to send and receive their email on-the go for a long time so far, iPhone 4 promises that enterprise apps functionality will be far beyond just wireless email.

The next step to think about is always a policy. If the enterprise decides it needs to define some policies, it should be done at the very beginning, right after you first noticed the iPhone 4 case on your colleague’s table. Although the major part of companies isn’t thinking about mobile apps yet, let alone building their own applications, application policies still need to be set. The reason is clear even if there won’t be a corporate use of iPhone apps, there still be a private use inside the company. Every business user is still a consumer, while the ordinary user usually has more than a dozen of applications and keeps seeking out the best.

This means that CIO needs to define a policy model covering both internal and external applications. In order to do that, the questions should be settled regarding the list of app to be officially supported, reimbursed, tolerated or denied; the list of people responsible for taking decisions and analyzing the impact on individual’s satisfaction and the consequences of breaking the policy.

The world is looking forward to meeting a new generation of mobile enterprise applications. Are you ready to join the team of those carrying iPhone 4 cases on their belts all around the company?

Apple Iphone Is The Device That Sparked The Touchscreen Revolution

For all those who are in love with the touch screen phones of today, they will be aware of the fact that the Apple iPhone has to be the genesis of the screen phones of today. The introduction of the touch screen phones happened only in 2007, when the Apple iPhone was launched. The Apple iPhone was most definitely one of the best smartphones not only of its time, but even now. It created a new era into the mobile phone industry, which is still keeping the smartphone lovers still interested. The touchscreen department is just one of the departments that the Apple iPhone excelled. Other area where the Apple iPhone was truly excellent was in the design and functionality.

The iPhone was definitely not the first touchscreen phone, but it was the touch screen phone that started the era of the capacitive technology in the touchscreen. This is a technology that facilitated in support for multi-touch, which is something that took the world by storm instantly. Due to the ease of use that was brought forward by the capacitive technology, people took instantly towards the Apple iPhone. It has been the case ever since. Design wise, the Apple iPhone has pretty much remained unchanged over the years mainly because of the fact that it was extremely good-looking initially. So, Apple has had no reason to change the design that has been so successful. Initially, the Apple iPhone came with three different memory options that are totally different from the options that are currently available in the Apple iPhone 4.

They were available in the 4 GB, 8 GB and 16 GB memory options. Even though they might be not great in the current situation, they were certainly far ahead of its time back in 2007. The Apple iPhone initially came with a 412 MHz processor, which was aptly supported by the use of a dedicated graphics card. It was a processor that was extremely fast and in turn, it proved to be the fastest mobile phone of all time. It ran the Apple iPhone OS, which pretty much redefined the term of a stable operating system. This was coming at a time when most of the operating systems that are popular namely, Symbian and so on, were facing a lot of issues when it comes to the stability. The Apple iPhone provided a stable platform for those who wanted entertainment, but also offered some business features as well.

It proved to be the massive turning point in the smartphone industry, which suddenly to towards the Apple iPhone OS. The Apple iPhone initially did not come with a secondary camera. It was only in the Apple iPhone 3GS version that the secondary camera was introduced. The original Apple iPhone has only a two megapixel camera that can make images at a resolution of 1600 x 1200 pixels. The Apple iPhone has been on sale for relatively the same price all these years and it is definitely one of the best phones of all time.

My iPhone 3GS is working again

Good luck!My iPhone is working perfectly again for about 80% less than exchanging for a new unit at the apple store. Thanks to using the for iPhone 3gs replacement lcd screen,I replaced it by myself. I read the directions carefully, including the advice to test it before peeling the paper off of the permanent adhesive. Only on my fourth time reassembling the phone did I have everything perfect. So I took it apart one more time, peeled the adhesive, and permanently put it back together. Works like new.But it is not easy to make it for me, because I’had never deal with it. I just followed the dealing with Youtube video. It was really cool to take the iPhone apart and see the remarkably tiny components and connectors that make it work. It was even cooler when I got it working again.

I suppose there was about a 30% chance that I would break something and be unable to get it working again. If that had happened I would have given fewer stars and paid Apple $190 to trade my broken unit for a new one. I would have paid $30 or so to play with the insides of an iPhone. In a word, using cell phone replacement repair parts to fix our phones is more convenient, saving more time and money.

I’m also investing in a better protective cover so it doesn’t get broken again!

Best wishes for a successful project.

Amadeus Consulting Discusses Designing Impactful Business iPhone Apps

I was browsing the Design Observer the other day, (as I tend to do daily), and I noticed that they have just released an iPhone app, a pretty sharp one at that. This got me thinking about the best practices and design techniques to bring to iPhone apps and other mobile app development. After some extensive searching, I came up with a lot of recommended iPhone and mobile apps for graphic designers, but no articles about what to think about when designing for smartphones.

Our company, unlike the majority of app development companies, does not design for game-based mobile applications. Because our history is so rooted in large-scale business application software, thats what we live and breathe. We have created over 30 mobile apps across all of the platforms, but they have been primarily business-focused, business-designed. This is why the Design Observer iPhone app struck me; it manages to balance business and leisure. Its beautiful and intuitive, and even introduces a new way to look at something: Mondrian-Style. So how do business-based iPhone app developers turn text-based material into well-designed and even sexy applications? What lessons can we learn from other successful business-function iPhone apps?

Brand Extension

Because most of these apps tend to come from existing businesses with existing websites, the biggest mistake in creating an iPhone app for your brand is to go off-base. This is an extension of your brand, so it has to reflect the same design principles and considerations that any other company materials might have. Remember your brand colors, typefaces, logo presence, messaging behind your brand and even the interaction paradigm of your website. What is the ultimate goal of your website? Translate that goal to the iPhone app.

App Icons

App icons are something so small, yet very important. When iPhone users are looking to add another app to their roster, they are very much influenced by the icon, because it is the visual representation of the app. Most users will not go to iTunes to download the app and sync with their phone. They will download it straight from the app store on their phone, meaning the initial contact they have is with the icon, and not the description of the application. For business iPhone apps, the icon truly depends on brand recognition.

Small Companies/Startups

Because smaller companies and startups do not have the brand recognition that larger entities like Chase Bank have, its critical that the design of the icon strike a balance between brand building and function of the app. For instance, say you are a startup bank, looking to create presence in the app store. Because people wont know your logo quite yet, youll want to incorporate your logo and something that indicates the financial world. It is easier said than done, especially given the real-estate of the icon, but a trusted graphic design partner can help you with that.

Large Companies/Well-Known Brands

Larger companies have longer history and brand recognition, so its likely that they can get away with using their logo as the icon for their iPhone app.

Introducing New Views

The thing about mobile apps in general is that people tend to interact with them in a fairly static way. They like knowing what to expect and that their next step will be intuitive. This doesnt mean that you cannot be creative. Think about elements of the design as a “new view, with a similar interaction.” Like the Design Observer app, that brought the “Mondrian View” to the table, which displays articles based on their photos, in a tile-like display. The user clicks on the picture to read the story. The thing to remember is that these new views should not be the main function of your app, they can add to the value to the app overall.

Graphic Considerations

Because this is not a gaming app, there needs to be a different consideration for graphics. The cost-benefit of good graphics is that often the better the graphics, the slower the application. It simply takes a long time to load quality (isnt it always the way?). However, when people are using business applications, they are more concerned with the function and ease. Their expectation is greater for the task of accomplishing something than the visual impact. Clean and sharp design is usually the best way to proceed; it keeps things simple but not boring, making sure that the design does not compete with the function.
